SCRAP IRON CLUB UPCOMING EVENTS
WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT
We are proud to announce that we will be having a Wood Bat Tournament and Scrap Iron Fundraiser.
Date: July 26, 2025
Location: Schaefer Athletic Complex, 9750 W Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80235

Prepare for a great event, with a concession stand serving food and drinks (Hot Dogs, Burgers, water & Beer) and of course good Old Time Softball with wood bats.
It will be a 3 game tourney with 4 teams in each bracket. Brackets will be set up of 4 teams of equal age groups. (2 AM Brackets Starting at 8:30) (2 PM Brackets starting at 1:00)
We have room for 16 teams, but even if you don’t plan on playing come and join us for food and softball. Some wood bats are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Bamboo composite bats are not allowed.
This event is sponsored by the Scrap Iron Softball Club. The cost is $240/team and will feature a three game guarantee. For registration, contact TBD

ANNUAL BANQUET AND AWARDS DINNER – October 26, 2024
Your Scrap Iron Club held the 2024 banquet on October 26 at Firefighters Union #768. We had 130 in attendance. The setting was welcoming with plenty of time to socialize with each other. The banquet generated about $3500 in donations after expenses. This year’s host was Eddie Buonaiuto (Eddie B) who entertained us with his humor and some magic tricks. The buffet was excellent from this year’s caterer, Brother’s BBQ. The ceremony consisted of team recognition and their MVPs. Four new Hall of Fame inductees and one Founder’s Award recipient were honored. A Special thanks to those that donated money, prizes and volunteered their time to make this a fundraising success.

SCRAP IRON 2024 BOARD MEETING – December 7, 2024
The Scrap Iron Board of Directors and Executive Committee meet to discuss the end of 2024 season finances, the season’s activities and club updates. New teams are presented and voted for acceptance into the Scrap Iron Club and a 2025 preliminary budget forecast is discussed. All Scrap Iron Club members are invited to attend. If someone has a topic to be discussed, contact the President by November 23, 2024.
